一、妥善保管好《入学通知书》等相关手续和证件，不要把行李物品等交给陌生人（包括不认识的老乡）看管，以免造成财、物损失。
二、在奉献爱心、救助别人或接受救助时要注意辨别真假。不要食用陌生人提供的食物、饮料，不要向陌生人透露家庭住址和亲属的信息情况，不要购买小商小贩推销的物品，不要把手机、银行卡轻易借给陌生人使用。凡以学校、银行等单位工作人员名义要求办理有关事项的应首先查看其工作证件，确认其身份，并和辅导员老师联系确认后再办理，谨防上当受骗。
三、报到期间，校内人员和车辆较多，要增强交通安全意识，严格遵守交通法规，外出时要乘坐合法运营的交通工具，严防安全事故的发生。
四、要提高警惕，加强防范，防止意外事件的发生。一定要将手机、钱包等贵重物品置于视线控制的范围内，宿舍内不要存放大量现金，存折、银行卡和身份证要分开存放；不要在宿舍内留宿外人，不要将房门钥匙交给别人，以防引狼入室；不要在宿舍内吸烟、使用蜡烛和酒精炉、热得快等违禁物品，严防火灾事故的发生；离开宿舍或休息时要注意关好门窗。
五、校内迎新地点为东园图书馆前广场，起止时间为：9月4日8:00～9月5日22:00。
六、2014级新生开学典礼定于9月6日上午9:00在学校体育艺术馆举行，备有家长观摩区，欢迎各位家长莅临。
七、报到期间，学校的周边会出现推销价格便宜的伪劣床上用品（黑心棉、劣质棉絮）的情况，请新生及家长不要上当受骗，为了健康，请购买学校统一订购的根据教育部等国家五部委要求经过质检部门审查的床上用品。
八、根据国务院、湖南省人民政府办公厅《关于将大学生纳入城镇居民基本医疗保险试点范围的实施意见》及学校相关文件精神，新生在校期间需统一购买《城镇居民基本医疗保险》，费用按学制一次性收取。
九、新生报到期间，务必请新生家长与辅导员老师建立有效联系，以便于学校与家长密切配合，教育和培养好学生。请在新生报到点领取学生信息采集表、校园一卡通，办理入网等相关手续，然后准确填写上面信息，交给学院（系）辅导员。
